Brian Eno Calls On Support to Get Together for Palestine Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely let down if it fails to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of well-known figures from the music world. All participated in the September show, which successfully generated a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The single features a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have clarified that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a spokesperson explained. “We aim for whatever we can get. Of course, the more the merrier. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the region was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a few million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all raising awareness for this issue and showing that another narrative exists.”

The track is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
