Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a man who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.

A viral video depicts the Australian man pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a promenade accompanied by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was set to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

History of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account features recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last December.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is clearly a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said one more response on Instagram.

A number of fans also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested online networks to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips shared widely, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-part version of the well-known Broadway and West End show Wicked, which centers on the unexpected bond between two contrasting witches.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen Academy Award nods, securing two for excellent wardrobe and production design.
