Nearly 55,000 families have so far been affected by the storms, with their belongings and temporary homes destroyed.

Persistent precipitation over the last seven days have worsened the extremely difficult living conditions of the hundreds of thousands of uprooted Palestinians in the territory, according to aid agencies.

"Horrendous" Night Brings Grave Dangers

A official detailed the weather overnight as "awful", with rain so heavy that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the ground.

"The recent weather was exceptionally difficult for the residents. The heavy rains were so powerful... And the gales were so powerful," said the representative.

There is extreme worry that children living in tents in damp attire will fall victim to hypothermia and various illnesses.

Deaths and Widespread Damage

The health ministry have reported that one baby has died from the cold and at least 11 other people have lost their lives in building collapses triggered by the severe weather.

Other reports put a increased death toll. Authorities stated that numerous residential buildings had fully given way and dozens had been partly destroyed.

  • Nearly 55,000 families affected by the weather.
  • More than 40 emergency refuges severely flooded.
  • Countless residents forced to move once more.

Aid Operations Deemed Inadequate

Agencies have stepped up shipments of tarpaulins, blankets and garments since the truce began, but they have said there is continues to be not enough aid reaching those in need.

"Officials are operating tirelessly to deliver that relief and to distribute it, but the size of the necessities is so immense that we still have thousands of people and minors who are truly suffering every night," cautioned one representative.

Future Issues and Agreement Plans

The second phase of the truce encompasses arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the removal of personnel, and other terms.

Relief organizations have stressed the imperative for "expanded and ongoing relief to respond to urgent and long-term needs."

The hostilities was sparked by an attack in late 2023. Following campaigns have caused a significant number of fatalities in the area, according to health ministry figures.
